A folk art chair, France, 1920s. Likely oak, of architectural form. In very original condition, with the exception of later paint to the seatback. Signs of age throughout, including fading, scratching, and wear to the wood, and a split to the seatbase (however still usable). An almost identical example can be seen on the cover of François Halard's book, pictured in situ at his home.
